The Indian Air Force (IAF) is one of the three branches of the Indian Armed Forces and is responsible for safeguarding the country’s airspace. The IAF offers a wide range of career opportunities for 12th pass candidates, including technical, non-technical and ground duties.

One of the most popular roles for 12th pass candidates in the IAF is that of an Airman (Group X and Group Y). Airman Group X is responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft and equipment, while Airman Group Y is responsible for various administrative and support roles. Both Group X and Group Y require candidates to have passed 12th standard with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects.

Another role available to 12th pass candidates is that of an Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) entry. AFCAT entry is a technical role, and requires candidates to have passed 12th standard with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects and at least 60% marks in aggregate. Candidates will be trained as Commissioned Officers in the Flying, Technical and Ground Duty branches of the IAF.

In addition to these roles, the IAF also offers ground duties such as Meteorological Assistant, Education Instructor, and Accounts Assistant for 12th pass candidates. These roles are non-technical and require candidates to have passed 12th standard with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
